Former Her Majesty’s Inspector for Ofsted and Director of Change and Quality Enhancement at
Sandwell College 2020-February 2023
It was a pleasure to work with Marie at Sandwell College from September 2020 till she left the college. As the director of change and quality enhancement at the college, I found Marie understood the adult learners, their needs, barriers and designed programmes that suited their life commitments. By liaising with so many public sector organisations she was astute at identifying and engaging adults into education and training to develop their skills and confidence. During this period, she enabled hundreds of adults to gain qualifications. Many secured jobs.
Her strengths are her excellent interpersonal and customer services skills. Marie has lots of energy, enthusiasm, and a particular knack of identifying the employers who need the workers to run their businesses successfully. Her knowledge of funding and rules related to it are first rate. She understands employability and the local context very well as she has her ears to the ground. Upskilling unemployed adults for work in the security industry was one of the prime examples of her successes.
I am sure she will make success of any venture she “owns” and puts her heart into.
